Agile Business, Agile Tools: Online Inventory Management from Canvus
Here at Canvus we have been working on projects together for a number of years. Stockpile, our inventory management solution for small business, is our first commercially available product. We have tried to be agile in other projects as well as the creation of Stockplie. In the software development world, the "agile" approach was recorded in 2001 and captured as part of the Agile Manifesto. Let's look at the first item on the manifesto:
"Individuals and interactions over processes and tools"
Sometimes we as developers try to solve all of our problems with a process or a tool. Just the other day, I attended a meeting with others practicing agile and what did we end up talking about? We ended up talking about a tool they were using. Don't get me wrong, tools can be every important to your business. You should look at Stockplie as one of those tools to compliment your business needs keeping in mind the importance of building relationships with people (individuals and interactions). These relationships incude your suppliers, employees and more. Starting to use Stockplie might free up your time to build these relationships.
Staying agile is an important idea to remember when you are building your business with (hopefully) the help of Stockplie. Also, keep in mind people have used the agile concepts in other areas.
